Hazards of VOC gases

The harm of VOC gas to human health
Stimulating effect: Some substances in VOCs are irritating, stimulating people's respiratory tract, eyes and mucous membranes, causing symptoms such as cough, tears, sneezing, and may also lead to skin allergies.
Nervous system impact: When the concentration of volatile organic compounds in the room exceeds a certain concentration, people will feel nausea, vomiting, and weakness of limbs in a short time; Severe seizures, coma, memory loss, damage to the brain and nervous system.
Carcinogenicity: Many VOCs are carcinogenic, such as benzene, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, aromatic amines, resin compounds, aldehydes and nitrosamines and other harmful substances have carcinogenic effect on the body or produce true tumor effect.
Other hazards: Long-term exposure to high concentrations of VOCs in the environment may seriously damage the health of the liver and hematopoietic system, and when the accumulation of volatile organic compounds reaches a certain concentration in a closed space, it can disturb the balance of the human immune system.
Environmental hazards of VOC gases
Formation of photochemical smog: VOCs under sunlight, with atmospheric nitrogen oxides, oxidants and other photochemical reactions, generating photochemical smog, harmful to human health and crop growth, the main components of photochemical smog are ozone, peroxyacetyl nitrate (PAN), aldehydes and ketones.
Damage to the atmospheric ozone layer: Certain substances in VOCs, such as halogenated hydrocarbons, can damage the atmospheric ozone layer, resulting in increased ultraviolet radiation, causing harm to humans and the environment.
Impact on climate change: Some VOCs are greenhouse gases and can have an impact on climate change.
